Oakley Johns tackles first week of DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour

Making the long haul back to the Midwest, Oakley Johns joined a field of 44 DIRTcar Summer Nationals entries at Brownstown (Ill.) Bullring on Tuesday afternoon to kick off the 2025 Hell Tour with a $5,000-to-win show.

Johns missed the opening night main event, but raced his way into the $5,000-to-win show at Kankakee (Ill.) County Speedway on Wednesday and finished 20th. The following night, Oakley did not make the show at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway and Friday's event at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) was postponed due to rain.

With a huge 58-car field on hand at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway on Saturday, Oakley managed to grab the final transfer spot in his heat race and record a 17th-place outing in the $10,000-to-win feature.

Johns did not make the week's finale at Sycamore (Ill.) Speedway on Sunday.

Oakley was able to add on two more Hell Tour races on Monday and Tuesday, but did not make either feature at Wilmot (Wis.) Raceway or Davenport (Iowa) Speedway.

Results from the first week can be viewed at www.DIRTcarSummerNationals.com.
