Johns takes HTF Series Rookie of the Year points lead at Whynot Motorsports Park
Oakley Johns was one of 45 Super Late Model drivers at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Miss.) on Friday afternoon for night one of the House of Hook Showdown with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series.
After charging to a transfer spot in his last chance race, Johns started 20th in the $8,000-to-win feature and made up eight positions to finish 12th in the 40-lap main event.
Saturday's $12,000-to-win finale was rained out.
Johns currently leads the Rookie of the Year point standings.
With the rainout, Oakley Johns made the trip to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) on Saturday night and recorded a 16th-place finish in the $10,053-to-win Spring Nationals feature.
