Oakley Johns joins Outlaws at Thunderhill; runner-up in Clay Smith Memorial with SAS
Tagging along with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series for their opening event of the weekend, Oakley Johns as one of 24 Late Models at Thunderhill Raceway (Summertown, Tenn.) on Thursday afternoon.
Finishing fourth in his heat race, Johns started 10th in the $10,000-to-win feature but was an early retiree on lap 12.
After taking Friday off, Oakley made the short trip to Tennessee National Raceway (Hohenwald, Tenn.) on Saturday afternoon to compete with the Southern All Stars. Locking himself into the $5,000-to-win main event on the front row, Johns ran runner-up to Dalton Cook in the 40-lap main event.
